Privacy

Your play, your choice.

Last updated: 5 September 2026

Playfun Games works without an account. If you choose to sign in, we use Appwrite for authentication, private cloud saves, player statistics, and casual leaderboards. We also use limited, cookieless analytics to understand whether games work and which games players use.

Audience and gameplay analytics

We use Umami Analytics to measure page visits, game starts, restarts, completed rounds, active play time, favorites, shares, device category, and general traffic source. Cloudflare Web Analytics provides aggregate traffic and performance measurements. These tools help distinguish an actively played game from a simple request or automated page load.

Analytics events include the game identifier and a random anonymous session identifier stored only for the current browser tab session. We do not send game saves, scores, typed words, names, email addresses, or precise location. Umami does not use analytics cookies. Our analytics provider processes technical request data, including IP address and browser information, to deliver and protect its service.

Error monitoring

We use Sentry to detect crashes and broken pages. Error reports may include the page path, browser and device details, error message, stack trace, and recent non-input interface actions. Query strings, form input, console messages, account identity, performance traces, and session recordings are disabled or removed by our configuration.

Advertising and consent

Playfun is preparing an advertising-supported Free tier, but no third-party advertising provider is currently enabled. The advertising runtime is disabled by default and does not contain a publisher ID or load an advertising vendor.

Before advertising is enabled, this notice will identify the selected provider and ad-technology vendors, their purposes, the data they process, retention information, and available controls. Advertising services may ordinarily receive technical request information such as IP address, browser details, device information, page context, and advertising or consent identifiers. Playfun will not include account IDs, display names, email addresses, game saves, typed words, scores, or private statistics in an advertising request.

Where consent or another privacy choice is required, the relevant advertising scripts will remain blocked until that choice is available and permits loading. The planned default is contextual advertising. A visible privacy-choices control and instructions for changing or withdrawing a choice will be added with the selected consent platform. Premium accounts are planned to suppress Playfun display advertisements while signed in.

Data stored in your browser

The site uses browser local storage for game scores, progress, favorites, recently played games, sound preference, and theme preference. Guest progress remains on your device. When you sign in, recognized game progress, favorites, and recently played games are synchronized to your private cloud save; visual preferences such as theme are not included.

Save-file import and export

Save files are created and read locally by your browser. Only import a file you trust. Imported files are checked for expected keys, types, and size limits. If you are signed in, valid imported game progress is included in the next private cloud synchronization, but it cannot create or change an accepted leaderboard score.

Hosting logs

Our hosting and security provider may process standard request information such as IP address, browser type, requested URL, and timestamps to deliver and protect the site. Those infrastructure logs are controlled by the hosting provider.

Accounts and online features

Appwrite processes the email address and authentication information needed to create and secure an optional account. Playfun does not display your email publicly. Your account preferences may include a display name, built-in avatar, and frame. Private cloud-save rows contain an internal account identifier, validated game data, a random device identifier, revision number, and update time. Private gameplay statistics contain game identifiers, session counts, outcomes, streaks, active-time totals, and update times.

Casual leaderboards publish the display name, game and mode, accepted score, duration, and achievement time associated with a signed-in submission. The public leaderboard does not show your email address. Browser gameplay cannot be fully verified, so leaderboard validation is designed for casual play rather than prizes.

Children

The games are intended for a general audience. We do not request birth dates, addresses, school details, precise location, or payment details from players. Children should ask a parent or guardian before creating an account or publishing a display name. Before advertising is enabled, Playfun will complete an audience and age-treatment review for the selected provider and launch regions; advertising remains disabled until that decision is implemented.

Your choices

You can clear local data from the My Saves section of your Account page or through your browser settings. When signed in, My Saves can also delete the account's private cloud progress. An empty reset record remains so an offline device cannot restore deleted progress. Clearing only browser storage does not delete an existing cloud copy. Export a save first if you may want to restore your progress. For other account-data requests, contact support@playfun.games.
